Getting Started

Here's an overview of what we need and a process overview to help guide you along before we begin your project!

If you are getting set to start a new website or website redesign and remodel with us in all likelihood it will be using the WordPress platform for the Content Management System and the Divi Theme from Elegant Themes for the page builder design framework.

WORDPRESS

ELEGANT THEME’S DIVI

The Elegant Theme’s Divi page builder development framework is arguably one of the most popular thmes amongst WordPress users and we specialize in using it. There are other theme’s and pahebuilders we’ll work with such as Elementor, Theme Forrest’s Avada and Studio Press’ Genesis but Divi is our prefered development tool. If you really want to use one another page builder or development framework we will be happy to discuss your reasoning with you.

While using Divi we can build virtually any style of website from the ground up there are hundreds of great Divi based Child Themes we can also use build your site off of too. To look at good library of those child themes you can visit Divi Theme Examples Showcase.

1) WHAT WE NEED TO GET STARTED

YOUR LOGO

We need your logo art ideally in EPS or high-resolution JPEG or PNG if possible. In lieu of that a PDF or any other image will do and if you don’t have a logo let us know and we’ll work on providing you one.

HOSTING CREDENTIALS

Your hosting account login and/or Cpanel username and password.

WORDPRESS LOGIN

An administrator login to your current WordPress site. (if this is a redesign of the WordPress site)

IMAGES & PICTURES

Current and/or new images and pictures you’d like to use on the new site.

CONTENT

Page content and any updated verbiage/information for the site.

STYLE GUIDE

Brand style guide, colors or any specific design requirements.

2) File & Image Sharing

DropBox

Dropbox is a great online image/file sharing platform. This isn’t necessary for every project, but if you have more than 15-20 images for your website or if they’re too big to send through email or post on basecamp, we can use Dropbox. We can also use this to share important logins and credentials instead of sending through email. We will set up a folder for the project and will share the folder with you via email. You can upload all images and files there.

3) THE DESIGN PROCESS

Designing a website, no matter how big or small is an extensive process that can be overwhelming. To better help you understand what to expect during the design and development, I’ve outlined our process into 3 steps:

1) LAYOUT AND DESIGN

A large and time consuming part of designing a website is in the planning and layout stage of the process. I’ll create the sitemap (Page/Menu hierarchy) of the website for approval first, then I’ll design the home page and a sub page (or more upon request) for approval.

2) DEVELOPMENT

Once the site layout and design is approved, I’ll move forward with the designing all site pages and implementing all functionality and plugins. We’ll make sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices and web browsers before moving to the final step.

3) EDITS & REVISIONS

Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to review each page and we can make detailed edits until the site is ready for launch. We ask that you please review ALL pages to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct before going live.
